Veteran Owned Business (VOB) Summit - 2016

We will be hosting our second Veteran Owned Business (VOB) Summit. Last year’s event was on Suppler Diversity best practices, this year’s theme is: "Technology as both an enabling and disruptive force in businesses, what you need to know to stay competitive".

We invite all Millitary Veteran busienss owners to come hear from of today’s thought leaders and see examples of how technology is transforming business and industry. We will also have some great guest speakers and demos of some interesting technologies available today and for networking.

  • First Data - Tem Frierson: Will be speaking about payment systems and merchant solutions and the history of these technologies and where things are headed
  • SAP - Laurens Eckelboom: Will be speaking to "Internet of Things" (IoT) and other innovative business support systems and the impact to consumers and business
  • Emory Veterans Trama Program - Dr. Barbara Rothbam is a leader in the treatment of PTSD and innovator utilizing Augmented Reality. She will speak to the use of this technology and its effects in the heathcare industry
  • UPS - Jeff Jones and Jamie Sermon: Will speak to the current roadmap of technologies in logistics and a featured presentation on ORION, an award winning innovation that is a proprietary routing software that uses fleet telematics and advanced algorithms to provide route optimization to drivers with optimized routing information saving time and fuel
  • GE - Karl Blodgett & Don Perigo: Will be talking about the new GE Culture of Innovation and how technology has transformed a 100+ year old company
  • Plus other speakers including the VA where they will talk about doing business with the Government along with the DOL, SBA, NaVOBa, and VECTR and more plus a local Veterans Owned Tech Startup


Note: All companies who register must provide proof of millitary veteran ownership prior to the event. This event is exclusive for veterans who own a busineses or who are in the process of starting one. If you are not a veteran, we respectfully ask that you do not register. Thank you!

Direction:

Take Exit 5 off the 400, head east on Abernathy. Turn right onto Glenlake Parkway. 55 Glenlake Parkway will be on your right about 1/2 mile.

UPS HQ - Founders Auditorium - 55 Glenlake Parkway NE, Atlanta GA 30328

Parking:

There will be reserved parking in the parking garage at the 55 Glenlake building, it is on your right as you approach UPS HQ.Show your ticket to the guard and tell him you are here for the VOB Summit.

If you arrive and the reserved parking at 55 Glenlake is full, we have a shuttle running from building 35 Glenlake Parkway. Directions: Turn left heading back towards Abernathy about 1/8 of a mile, building 35 will be on your left, its the next building you will see with a large parking lot, in-between the construction site and building 35. A Shuttle van will be running to take you to and form the event 12:30 to 5:30PM.
